Can't start SQL Server 2008

0

I just installed SQL Server 2008 R2 and I can't get it started. I opened the configuration manager, but the SQL Server, Agent and Browser options can't be started (the start option is greyed out, as well as stop, restart and others). I also tried running it as admin but it still won't start.

What could be wrong?

EDIT: When I right-click on the Server/Agent/Browser in the configuration manager, the only active options are properties and help. Start/stop/pause/resume/restart are inactive.

EDIT2:

Here are the two relevant errors I found in the event log:

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\Tools\VDT\DataProjects.dll . Error code = 0x8007000b
