After the June 2020 Update, my 2017 HP Notebook 15-ba015na using Windows 10 Home Build 1903, began shutting down after a few minutes.
This persisted for a day, now it won't boot up at all, as it gets stuck whilst it is ‘Preparing Automatic Repair’.
Then I get a Blue Screen with the error message 0xc00000e9 and refers to the File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.efi. Shortly after that the Hard Drive stops, and the screen goes blank as the laptop shuts down.
When I am on the Blue Recovery screen with the error message, I can press ESC to get to the HP System and Component Diagnostic Tests as well as being able to access the BIOS.
The Boot was set at the OS Boot Manager (which has a pointer alongside it, which stays there no matter where it is in the Boot Order).
I have tried to boot from the CD/DVD drive using the System Repair and Recovery Disc, which I made when I was setting up the laptop, after making the Optical drive the first choice, but it still went to the BSOD Recovery with the same error message.
I again tried to boot from the USB using a Recovery Flashdrive created from the Microsoft Media Creation tool, when I was setting up the laptop. I made sure that the USB was the top choice on the Boot Order, but I still got the BSOD with the same error message.
The worst thing about this is that I can't even get past the same error message, it is always trying to start automatic repair and then gets stuck within seconds.
I have run the built-in HP Diagnostic tests and the laptop passed all of the tests, yet it won’t start normally.
It is puzzling, as it passes all of the HP Diagnostics every time I run them, but will not boot up into Windows.
