I recently ran into an issue while trying to upgrade my Windows 10 Home key (attached to my Microsoft account) to Windows 10 Pro. After purchasing and installing the upgrade I now have an Active Windows splash on my desktop. Of course, Activation Troubleshooter fails when I run it so that doesn't help me. All I get is this error code, 0xC004F025.
Now I have tried to research this and I found some things that don't make sense, for example, I have to contact support to fix this or "try buying a new key for $200". I am wondering if I was given some random Enterprise OEM key because the last five digits of the new key in Settings >> Update & Security >> Activation is different then the last five in the Windows 10 Home key attached to my account. Also, When I run slmgr.vbs /dlv in CMD, I see that I am using Enterprise edition with an OEM key.
FYI, I am 99% sure I built this PC myself and that I did not spend $400 on an Enterprise key...
I never received a new key for Pro so that's why I'm assuming I can just reactivate with my old key but since I could not find clarification anywhere else online I wanted to check my options here. Just in case.

This is an indication you did not purchase a Windows 10 Professional key. Having purchased an upgrade to a higher edition in the past within Windows, I can confirm that it only takes a reboot, for the new edition to be detected. The license key of course changes to the license key for the edition that is detected.

I have no idea what edition you actually purchased, but if that command is indicating you are running an Enterprise version of Windows, it means you have been scammed by whoever sold you the key. Having performed an upgrade from Windows 8 Professional to Windows 8 Professional with Media Center. I can confirm that whatever version you upgrade to would be indicated by this command.

Which is an indication you were likely sold a gray market Enterprise key which of course will not activate without a working KMS server?

This is an additional indication, whatever you purchased, was not from a retailer that sells authenticate Windows 10 Professional keys. Since you specifically indicate you were not emailed a Windows 10 Professional license key, I assume, you were emailed a Windows 10 Enterprise license key. Windows 10 Enterprise requires a KMS server in order to activate. Windows 10 Enterprise cannot be activated without a KMS server, which also has very specific activation rules, depending on the product you are attempting to activate.
If you run winver
, and it indicates you are running Windows 10 Enterprise, instead of Windows 10 Professional then you likely upgraded to the incorrect version. It is not clear how you performed the upgrade to Windows 10 Professional, the upgrade should have been done within Windows 10, and only required a single reboot to accomplish. It should have taken less then 2 minutes to complete the upgrade process.
I should add that it shoudln't have been possible to go from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Enterprise. You should verify you have not invertently used a Windows 10 KMS license that canot be activated.
