Acer TC-280-UR11 was running Windows 10 OK, just slowly. I had partitioned the 2TB drive into 2 parts so my "D" drive had my data. I tried to migrate to an SSD using Acronis for Crucial. After the seemingly successful migration, neither HDD nor SSD would boot - BSOD "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired or a required device is missing" 0xc0000225 error. I restored my Paragon HDD backup and got a similar error - 0xc000000e. I tried a clean install from Windows 10 1809 recovery media. It failed at first restart - Black screen "Reboot and Select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected device and press a key". Same failure doing clean install from Windows 8.1 DVD. Same errors on both Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 clean install to the SSD. (I assume the black screen errors come from the BIOS. Where does the BSOD come from?). I installed Ubuntu as a dual boot system alongside my Paragon restore and everything works. I can run Ubuntu OR I can boot and run all of my old Windows 10 apps. I have re-flashed the BIOS. No change. It seems the BIOS will not recognize a UEFI/GPT HDD or SSD as long as it says Windows Boot Manager in the Boot Device list. I can boot from a UEFI USB, a DVD, or the HDD if it has Ubuntu, but not from any Windows HDD or SSD. I have also tried Ubuntu's Boot-Repair, EasyRE, all of the internet boot error fixes like rebuildbcd, fixboot etc. Sorry for the long question but I have tried my best to fix this myself. Is it the ACER BIOS (or is it Memorex? - I am dating myself). HELP!
