Dell laptop Win10 crashes with VMware

0

I have a Dell XPS13 9360 running Windows 10 (8GB RAM, 256GB of memory). I installed VMware Workstation and I use it to virtualize Ubuntu for studying purposes. I set up the VM with 4GB of RAM and 60GB for HD.

I've run it for a couple of months last spring and in that period my pc kept running into problems which caused blue screen of death. I still have an error report from that time, saying:

windows bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff803b80f62a0, 0xffff808e7e109cd8, 0xffff808e7e109520)

and I think that lead to this page.

Now I started using it again and my pc has experienced about three blue screens in the last week - which is a bit too much for a pc bought less than a year ago. Some details about the crashes:

- Bug check code: 0x00000050. Bug check parameters: 0xffffffffe2d35ff8, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff8082fd1dd33, 0x000000000000000c
- Bug check code: 0x0000007e. Bug check parameters: 0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff8001774dd33, 0xffff85078c055138, 0xffff85078c054980
- Bug check code: 0x00000050. Bug check parameters: 0xffffffffe2d35ff8, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff807dae9dd33, 0x000000000000000c

I associated the crashes with VMware since I did not have any problems while not using it, but it is just a guess.

Is it correct? Should I stop using VMware and find other solutions to run Ubuntu? Or should I worry about my pc because it has some problems of its own?
