I have been proud of myself for regularly making System Image backups of my C: drive. I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, on a Dell OptiPlex 9020 desktop. I use a 2 TB Western Digital "My Passport" drive for the backups (USB 3).
I recently decided to review how many images I had. Yikes! Windows won't even scan for the images! So I have a lot of unusable backups unless I can figure a way around this.
The error message is
bmrue.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0xffecb494 referenced memory at 0x00000000.
The memory could not be read.
Any suggestions?
I have a 1 TB drive and that works fine. My 2 TB and 4TB drives both fail.
A Google search indicated that deleting an "EFI System Partition" might help, but my disk does not have one -- it has just one partition, type "Primary", size 1862 GB.
I read this article http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/error-bmruiexe-application-error-when-attempt-to/f8fce9d6-0013-40ca-957a-d6325bc53bc5 but nothing suggested there works for me.
