My PC has one SATA drive and one IDE. Windows XP is installed on the SATA. I cloned XP to the old IDE in order to install Ubuntu on the fast SATA drive. If they were from the same type I would have simply switch between them, but this is not the case.
XP boots from IDE but error is displayed after logon:
'Windows Product Activation
A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer.
Error code: 0x8009001d'
The error code appears in the following page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/914232
They say this problem occurs if you modified the MountedDevices registry value to change the system drive letter assignment.
Does anyone know what's exactly the problem and how to fix it?
