VM in aborted state won't start?

-1

I'm a beginner with a lot of this and I have researched the question for quite a while now but nothing seems to work and I can't necesessarily understand a lot of the advice given.

I have a Virtual Machine installed on a Windows host and I am running a Ubuntu 64 VM on it and it only works when I run the program as a administrator. I forgot to do this and the VM was already starting so I just closed the VM Manager which left me with my VM in the aborted state after reopening the Manager.

Now, when I try to start it again it gives me the error message: 'The VM session was closed before any attempt to power it on.' Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: SessionMachine Interface: ISession {c0447716-ff5a-4795-b57a-ecd5fffa18a4}

I tried to discard the saved state but that is not an option/cannot be selected even though the VM was properly closed and saved the last time. This is a screenshot of the Machine details if that helps? VM Manager

I have relatively important results/files on there that I need so I am afraid to try anything involving deleting parts but I do really need to access these files!

Do you have any advice or any idea as to what I could try? I am aware that I don't really know what's going on so maybe there is a simple solution to this?

Thanks a lot already!
