Cosmos DB service unavailable

I have an azure function running since 5-6 months. I have been facing some function related issues for past 1 month and hence I upgraded the function runtime version from ~2 to ~3.

This function calls Cosmos DB SDK methods to read and write data into one of our collection. Everything was working fine for me in cosmos DB context till yesterday. Yesterday night I saw error in Application insights while writing data into Cosmos DB. I made the runtime version change yesterday. So, can that be the reason for these exceptions and if yes what is the solution for same?

Could you please assist.
