MacOS Bootcamp: Cannot access windows after downloading windows support software directly to bootcamp partition

0

I installed windows 10 on my mac via bootcamp yesterday and it worked fine. But today I attempted to install the windows support software (in bootcamp assistant-->Action-->Download Windows Support Software) directly to my bootcamp partition, and immediately it stopped working. The bootcamp drive stopped appearing in disk utility, and when I open bootcamp assistant now it tells me that "the startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned: you must have at least 42 GB of free space available" even though I have 43.64 GB available. When I restart my computer and hold option, I am able to see the windows hard drive, but when I open it I am prompted with the error message: "The operating system couldn't be loaded because the system registry file is missing or contains errors" with error code: 0xc0000225. I have no idea how to fix this problem since I don't see how I can even access the windows bootcamp to repair it. Please let me know if anyone knows how to solve this.
