Debian 10.2 Boot Error - Kernel Panic not syncing, attempted to kill init! exitcode 0x00000007

Upon restarting Debian, I received a boot error involving the error in the title and that was similar to the below log output from the kernel log, but including a call trace retyped below. I was able to reboot into an Ubuntu partition on the same drive, which would seem to indicate it is not a hardware problem, which has allowed me to retrieve the system and kernel logs from the boot attempt.

Since the last time I successfully booted into Debian, I have made the following changes:

• Installed the packages bridge-utils, nm-tray (with dependencies), ebtables, and arp-scan. These did make some changes to Libc, which I found referenced in a post about a similar error on a centOS server where the disk was failing.

• I attempted to set up a bridged network connection between my wireless network card and my ethernet card. This failed and the connection was later deleted.

• Installed several packages for the R programming language.

I have attempted to boot from the GRUB advanced options for Debian page and neither of the two available has succeeded.

I also, in an attempt to fix the problem, attempted to manually delete the above installed Debian packages by removing them from /var/lib/dpkg/info and the entries from the /var/lib/apt/extended_states file.
