So, I am starting The Odin Project to learn development. For The Odin Project, you need to start a VM running Xubuntu, but whenever I try to create one, I get an error message saying:
Failed to register the virtual machine Xubuntu.
Runtime error opening 'C:\Users\tyler.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml-tmp' for overwriting: -38 (Access denied.).
F:\tinderbox\win-rel\src\VBox\Main\src-server\VirtualBoxImpl.cpp[5109] (long __cdecl VirtualBox::i_saveSettings(void)).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: VirtualBoxWrap
Interface: IVirtualBox {d0a0163f-e254-4e5b-a1f2-011cf991c38d}
The first time I set up the Xubuntu VM I got it working without any problems, and after it installed it was really late at night and I was very tired, and without thinking I closed out of VirtualBox without warning, and after that crap hit the fan. I kept getting error messages, so I removed my Xubuntu installation. Then I got an error message when I tried setting it up again. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still nothing, but the Xubuntu installation managed to pop up again, but it said "Inaccessible" under it. So, I deleted it, tried to make another VM, more errors. So, I uninstall, delete all files I could find related to VirtualBox, and reinstall. Repeat of the last few sentences. I have tried uninstalling with the VirtualBox wizard, repairing with the wizard, removing with the Windows Add/Remove Programs Settings, running as admin, moving files closer to root of C:\ drive, everything. But I always get an error, and this error apparently doesn't exist on Google.
Screenshot of error message. Not high enough level to embed images yet lmao
