Unable to create Host-only network device on Oracle Virtual box

Started to have an issue after an upgrade from version 5.2 to 6.0.x Unable to create host-only network adapter. Host machine -win 10, guest machine -Kali Details of an error: Failed to create a host network interface.

SetupDiCallClassInstaller (DIF_INSTALLDEVICE) failed (0x00000002).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: HostNetworkInterfaceWrap Interface: IHostNetworkInterface {455f8c45-44a0-a470-ba20-27890b96dba9}

Tried to: 1. Uninstall and reinstall with admin privileges - did not help

2. Rollback to previous version - didn't help

3. Unloaded antivirus and all of it's services, then installed VirtualBox - didn't help

4. searched https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch12.html#ts_win-host-host-only-network-adapters - did not find %windir%\inf\INFCACHE.1 at all

5. browsed %windir%\inf\setupapi.dev.log

found following error:

5. searched registry for sun_VBoxNetAdp - did not find any key/value. Please help
