p2v conversion of windows machine results in 7B-Error, but all suggested solutions failed. Now what?

I converted a physical win XP machine (please don't ask why) to a vm using vmware stand-alone converter. All went smooth but when the vm is powered on, the vm fails to boot with the 7B error. It's a driver issue, I know. There are some suggested solutions around, and I followed this one: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/michs/2011/09/16/p2v-migration-issues-with-hyper-v-stop-0x0000007b/ I made all suggested changes, but without success.

Has anyone a suggestion how to solve this problem?
