Unknown software exception(0xe0434352) while doing a merge in team explorer with gitlab branches

I am facing an issue that, whenever I do a merge in team explorer with gitlab repo visual studio throws an error Unknown software exception(0xe0434352) and asks to restart.

Please help on this to solve the issue. I have no idea whether it is with VS or Gitlab

More Info: Am using VS 2015, Gitlab 10.0.1, Gitlab Extension for VS
