recover data from clicking hard drive with error "sas discovery error 0x00000002"

-1

Its my boot drive, and yes there is work on it that I have not backed-up.

I have a dell r410 with ubuntu 14 OS, a 2tb boot drive and three additional 2tb drives in a raid 0. About two/three weeks ago I started having issues with booting to initramfs and needing to do a manual fsck every time I rebooted for an OS update. I very lazily didn't think too much of it, but it happened three more times. Last week, I bought a new drive thinking I would just replace the drive this weekend, and upon trying to turn the machine on, I got the dreaded "click of death" and "sas discovery error 0x00000002".

1) I have never tried to recover data before, so please advise appropriatly. I'm going to need some hand holding to try to sort this out. 2) I have tried to boot from USB and I can only see the raid. I'm not sure how to handle data recovery from a drive I cant see.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
